PATNAVIP support is provided by Andy Aitken (BSc,MEng,PG IPCert) an IP specialist/analyst with a scientific background that covers multi-discipline engineering, physics, polymers, materials, textiles, physiological sciences, medical devices, acoustics and optics having worked in these sectors at various practitioner levels during his industrial career.

He has experience as a skilled patent searcher in the above technical disciplines and has conducted searching over the last 10 years, more recently for patent attorney office purposes and prior to this as IP “champion” or IP manager for the UK division of a large highly innovative US based consumer/ medical/ industrial/ electronics global enterprise. In 2016 he completed a PGIPCert in Intellectual Property Law.

Aside of searching Andy has sound practitioner insights into best practice use of IP for multiple purposes namely: research and product development, technology roadmapping and innovation management, Patent Box tax benefits, competitive intelligence, IP strategy and business support and development/training.
